Diversity in the Oscar is a controversial topic. 6% percent of all Oscar winners in the past 45 years were African American. There were 2 Latinos and 1 Indian winner. The rest have been Caucasian. This problem can not be solved by just anyone but by casting directors and writers. Not to be bias to just give leading roles to minorities but they should think about this social issue while casting actors/actress into their movies.

The Oscars were primarily white up until the late 1980s when a rush of black Oscar nominees and winners such as
Sidney Poitier and Jennifer Hudson. There hasn’t been a majority of Latino and other ethnicity winners at a time but hopefully will be in the future.

This problem can not be solved by an every day Joe but if we all ban together we can convince the writers to include more minorities to have lead roles.
